Fire Breaks outs at Moolamattom power house Two injured

Monday, June 20, 2011: A major fire broke out at Moolamattom power house in Idukki. Two KSEB employees, Assistant Executive Engineer and Sub Engineer have been injured.
Both were immediately rushed to the hospital. Production of electricity at Moolamattom power house has been temporarily stopped. A fire broke out in the chamber of one of the six underground generators in the power house at 6.15 p.m.
The fire caused an explosion in the transformer of generator no. 5. The power house was shut down immediately after the explosion to avert further damage and destruction.
