Tuesday, June 28, 2011: In an embarrassment to DYFI, the youth wing of CPM in Kerala, its state Treasurer VV Ramesan has been expelled from the party in connection with the Pariyaram medical college seat row. The party has initiated action against Ramesan for securing an NRI seat in Pariyaram Medical College for his daughter despite the outfit being in the forefront of agitations against such self-financing colleges over the issue of capitation fee.
The DYFI meeting which met in the presence of Polit Bureau member Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, decided to expel Ramesan,
