June 20, 2011: The hearing on Kiliroor-Kaviyoor cases would begin today. There are six accused in Kiliroor case and one accused in Kaviyoor case.
The CBI Special Court had on June 13 came down heavily on the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the probe into the sensational Kaviyoor case in which a 40-year-old temple priest, KI Narayanan Namboodiri, his wife and three children were found dead at their rented house at Wavier near Thiruvalla on September 28, 2004.
The Court opined that the CBI had committed carelessness during the investigation of the case. The autopsy report revealed that traces of semen were found from Anakha’s body.
‘Crime’ magazine Chief Editor TP Nandakumar had filed a petition before the CBI court seeking further investigation into the Kaviyoor and Kiliroor sex scandal cases. In the petition, he sought directives to investigate the roles of the sons of Ministers MA Baby and Kodiyeri Balakrishnan in the case.
