Friday, June 17, 2011: The Thrissur Chief Judicial Magistrate Court has today granted bail to Mohanlal in connection with the defamation case filed by Sukumar Azhikode. The Court granted bail on the sureties furnished by Alex K Babu and Antony Perumbavoor.
Earlier, Azhikode had filed a defamation suit against Mohanlal for the latter’s comment that he (Azhikode) was suffering from `hallucination.’
Azhikode had criticized Mohanlal saying that he should now limit himself to the roles that match his age as he has turned quite old now and stated that Mohanlal should stop endorsing jewellery to earn money.
Mohanlal replied back saying that he had taken the statements of Azhikode as joke of some aged uncle. He also said that ‘hallucination’ could be the reason of Azhikode stating all those. Mohanlal further said that Azhikode is no one to decide or suggest whether he should stop acting or no.
