KOCHI: Reaffirming his stand again on the bar license issue, KPCC chief V M Sudheeran said a decision in favour of public interest will be taken. The wish of bar owners will not happen, he told reporters.
Sudheeran said the bar license issue will be solved amicably. The party will take a stand with open minds. Formulas and directives are suggested in talks convened. Stiff resistance are quite natural when moving forward aiming the concern of the people. Those having vested interests are behind the opposition.
Fights and police cases have been reduced during the period the bars have been closed. Even though it is a positives sign, it has not been much noticed. There are chances to misuse the situation by those having vested interests and anti-social elements. Chances for a liquor tragedy should not be excluded.
I’ve witnessed difficulties in my public life and my stand in public issues had been a great concern for me, but I am sure I will be able to solve all that, he said.
