Padmanabhaswamy temple: VS demands NIA probe

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan has demanded an NIA inquiry into the alleged smuggling of gold and ancient idols from Sree Padmanabha Swamuy temple.

“The crime has been committed by robbers who have international connections. The State government is scared of Royal family and that is why the government doesn’t dare to file a case on the temple robbery, alleged Achuthanandan.

“It was Uthradom Thirunal Marthandavarma who messed up the temple administration. Chief Minster Oommen Chandy misled the court in order to protect the Royal family,” he said and added that the temple administration should be modelled on the lines of Guruvayur temple administration.
