Nine Keralites killed in Mysore accident

MANGALORE: Nine Keralites have been killed and ten injured in an accident at Periyapattinam near Mysore early Wednesday morning at 4.45 am. Those involved in the accident were natives of Deralakatte in Mangalore. The accident happened when the tempo traveller in which they were traveling collided with a gas lorry at Periyapattinam. Four women and three children were among the dead.

The bodies of Iqbal (30), Fouzia (24), Muhammed Irshan (3) and Muhammed Hisham (4) have been identified. Reports saythe family of Sayyed, native of Mangalore, is involved in the accident. The bodies have been shifted to the Government Hospital in Periyapattinam. Six injured have been admitted at Mysore Appolo Hospital and four at Colombo Hospital.

There were 21 persons including six children in the traveller. The accident happened when they were returning after praying at a church in Tamil Nadu. The lorry proceeding to Mysore from Madikkeri struck the traveller at Sambalapur on the B M Road.
