Resident doctors to strike work

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  PG Resident doctors in Government Medical Colleges across the State, under the banner of Kerala Medical PG Association, will strike work on Tuesday from 8 am to 1pm.

The protest has been organised to press for their demands which include reinstating  the recognition for Medical PG seats in Government Medical colleges and abandoning the move to raise the pension age.

Casualty, ICU, Labour Room and Emergency theatre have been excluded from the strike. More PG resident doctors have also decided to serve in casualty wing. This year the government had cancelled the recognition of about 100 PG seas, endangering the future of 764 PG resident doctors, who had passed exams with high ranks.
