I Group approaches Sonia with plaints against Sudheeran

NEW DELHI: Congress I  Group leaders have met Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and are said to have complained against KPCC president  V M Sudheeran. The leaders comprised Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala and Co-operation Minister C N Balakrishnan.

The main complaint against Sudheeran was that he took unilateral stand regarding Consumerfed corruption and organisational polls.

Chennithala reportedly told Sonia that Suheeran had been functioning according to his own wishes without discussing anything with other party leaders. Sudheeran writing to the chief minister demanding the removal of Consumerfed president was not appropriate. The issue was not taken up with him or the chief minister. C N Balakrishnan added that even he, who is the minister concerned, was kept out of the loop while Sudheeran took decisions regarding Consumerfed.

But, later Chennithala explained to media persons that he had gone to Delhi to meet Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to discuss the crisis that may emerge in the cooperation sector “due to the Central government’s new policies.” He chose to keep mum when asked whether he had discussed controversial issues with the Congress chief.

The home minister also added that being able to prevent violence in the name of Munnar strike was a praise-worthy achievement of the police. He had also instructed the DGP and the police officers to behave politely with the strikers.
