Medical negligence alleged over pregnant woman’s death at SAT

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The death of a pregnant at the SAT hospital here resulted in noisy scenes with the relatives alleging that she died due to medical negligence. The dead has been identified as Shyama from Uchakkada.

Though Shyama was first admitted in the Parassala hospital, she was later sent to SAT as cesarian was advised for her. It is alleged that the hospital staff waited for her normal delivery, resulting in her death. 

Following the death, her relatives protested in front of the hospital. They only stopped protesting after the police assured them of an inquiry into the death, by an official of Commissioner’s rank. 

Health Minister V S Sivakumar informed that he had given instructions to Medical Education Director to inquire into the incident and submit a report on it immediately.
