ALAPPUZHA: A political party under the leadership of the SNDP Yogam will not be floated soon. The yogam Sunday entrusted the council to take a decision on the formation of the party at the meet held in Cherthala Sunday.
Briefing reporters the decisions of the meeting, SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan said a final decision in connection with the formation of a political party will bet taken after discussing with similar minded of the majority community.
Following the demand of the formation of a political party, a decision was taken through a secret voting. All except four supported the formation of a political party. However, some minor changes were made. A decision was taken to seek the opinion of majority communities before the formation of the party.
ASamrakshana Yatra will be staged from Kasargod to Thiruvananthapuram from November 15 to 30. Lakhs will attend the concluding function in the capital city. Any community from Nayadi to Namboodiri can partake in it. The aim of the yatra is to expose the negligence towards the majority community.
The Yogam has decided to permit members of the SNDP to contest independently in the local polls. But, they should get the permission of the unions. A decision has been taken to make the organisation more active, he said.
