KASARGOD: The police Tuesday arrested a person in connection with the bank theft at the Vijaya Bank in Kasargod. The person arrested has been identified as Yousuf, a native of Vellappa.
It was Yousuf who helped the thieves to rent the ground floor of the building where the bank is located. Meantime, it is hinted that the accused have fled to Bengal. As hints have obtained on the accused, the police is likely to release the sketch of the accused soon.
The bank authorities have put the loss at Rs 5 crore in gold jewellery and around Rs 3 lakh in cash.
