KASARGOD: A gas tanker carrying gas cylinders overturned after losing control at Nayanmarmoola on the national highway in Cherkkala at 5.30 am Thursday morning. The lorry which overturned was proceeding to Kochi from Mangalore. The lorry is lying across the road. There is no gas leak and following the incident, vehicles have been diverted through Aalamppady.
Driver Thyagarajan and cleaner Nigandhan of Tamil Nadu have sustained minor injuries in the accident.
Kasargod MLA N A Nellikkunnu, district collector P S Muhammed Sageer and district police chief Dr A Sreenivas have reached the spot. Fire force is also there.
