Saswathikananda case: Govt ordered further probe on the basis of VS letter, says Chandy

KOCHI: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said that further probe into the death of Swami Saswathikanan was ordered on the basis of Opposition leader V S Achuthananda’s letter. If the CPM State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had any complaints regarding the probe, he should tell  VS about it.

“Kodiyer’s claim that further probe was ordered to divert the attention of the public from the bar bribery case is not right. The probe was demanded by VS and the government initiated procedures as per the law. There is no concrete evidence in the hands of the Opposition to blame the government, a reason why they are making a lot of noise over the Vigilance verdict in the bar bribery case,” he said.

Further probe into Saswathikananda case was also welcomed by Congress leader A K Antony. “All kinds of suspicious in the case should go and hence we don’t fear an inquiry,” Antony said in Kochi.
