If CM doesn’t expel Mani, governor should intervene: Kodiyeri

KOZHIKODE: CPM State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has said that the decision of the government to go for appeal against the Vigilance court is ridiculous. “Why is Mani, who has once said he is ready to face inquiry 101 times, now going for appeal?,” he asked.

He said appealing against the verdict and avoiding further inquiry would tantamount to sabotaging the case. “If Mani is not ready to quit on his own, the chief minister should do that. If that also doesn’t happen, the governor should intervene,” Kodiyeri said.

The CPM leader was responding to the Vigilance court’s prima facie finding that Mani had taken Rs 25 lakh bribe from bar owners.
