No alliance with CPM: Shihab Thangal

KOZHIKODE: Muslim League State chief Panakkad Hyderali Shihab Thangal has said the League is not going for any kind of alliance with the CPM. He expressed hope that Congress-League tiff in Malappuram would easily be resolved.

“The Muslim League exists as part of the UDF. And therefore, there is no need to cooperate with the CPM. The party’s aim is to strengthen the UDF. It is never late to solve issues in Malappuram,” he said.

Ever after KPCC president V M Sudheeran’s intervention, Congress-League issues in Malappuram could not be solved. It was against this backdrop reports that CPM was getting closer to the League started trickling in. Moreover, the CPM leader Pinarayi Vijayan also had said it was not the right time to evaluate whether the League was a communal party or not.
