CPM levels allegations to cover up embarrassment: Chennithala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has said that CPM’s allegations on Congress-BJP links is a cover up for its embarrassment over the allies leaving the Left.

“It is the Marxist party that is encouraging majority communalism. Only Congress can be a strong opponent to communal parties including RSS,”Chenntihala said on his Facebook post.

“In all states including Bengal, the Marxist party is having a bleak future. In Kerala also, the situation is no different. The Central leadership is well aware of the above facts.  This is one of the reasons why politburo meeting has decided to go for compromises with any party during the local body election in Kerala. These arrangements show it is the CPM that is encouraging majority communalism in the State.

“The UDF has unanimously decided not to befriend any party outside it. It is the Congress that leads the protection of secularism and democracy across India. The Left parties take a stand to sabotage this and one instance is in Bihar where the Left has fielded its own candidates against grand alliance including Congress, in order to help communal forces. Through this act, the Left’s communal face has become clear. The local body poll will prove that Kerala is not a fertile land for communal forces,” the post read.
