AALACODE: A 24 year-old-youth was arrested for sexually abusing a tenth class student after abducting her from her house. The accused has been identified as O K Sooraj (24) of Aalacode. He was arrested from Mananthavady after a long search by a team led by Aalacode circle inspector I V John, sub inspector Vijayan Mani and women civil police officer Fazna.
The girl was missing from Wednesday. She was abducted from her house when her parents had gone for work. Only her aunt was in the house when the incident happened. The girl’s aunt lodged a complaint at the Aalacode police when she found that Sooraj was also missing. The police soon started the investigation.
An auto driver informed police that Sooraj had taken the girl to Cherupuzha. The police with the help of the accused’s mobile phone tower traced them but he soon fled to Kannur with the girl. He sexually abused her at a lodge there. He told the lodge people that the girl was his sister and had come there as she had an exam.
After knowing that the police are behind them, he soon left for Mananthavady. The auto drivers stopped the two and informed the police as soon as they reached Mananthavady. When the police questioned him, he admitted to have sexually abused the girl. The two were subjected for medical examination. The arrest of the youth was registered. The youth has been remanded for two weeks.
