Don’t take over FACT’s land: K P Rajendran

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: AITUC State General Secretary K P Rajendran has said that the Central government’s decision to conditionally take possession of FACT lands as a quid pro quo for rendering other help could not be accepted.

“Instead of getting financial and technical help from the Central government, the public sector units are reeling under threat of attachment of their land by money lending banks and conditional bank loans. Facts and agreements that have evolved in the discussions held among the chief minister, ministers and the prime minister should be disclosed,” he said.

Rajendran said that procedures had been initiated to sell lands of public sector units in the State. He also demanded that chief minister convene a meeting of Central Trade Union organisations to discuss issues related to the protection and existence of public sector units
