NEW DELHI: The Congress high command has come out with the clarification that the letter that criticises the Congress’ organisational set up and Chief Minister Oommen Chandy came from Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala, according to reports.
The high command said it was examining the content of the letter. The letter was first sent as email and when Chennithala reached New Delhi recently, he handed over hard copy of the letter. But sources said no action will be taken against anyone on the basis of the letter.
The letter which alleged that KPCC has weakened and Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s image has been dented came out through a national paper. Following this, a copy of the letter was procured by media persons in New Delhi. The letter also analysed civic poll drubbing of the Congress.
Meanwhile, Chennithala said the letter controversy will be probed. The police have been asked to probe the source of the letter. The home minister also asserted that he would say what he has to tell, to the right person, at the right time. “I know how to write a letter to Congress president. As the letter controversy has been created, I would meet Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi today itself,” he said.
Meanwhile, the high command has invited Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and KPCC president V M Sudheeran, besides Chennithala, on December 22 to New Delhi for a discussion
