THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan has filed a petition in Vigilance court, seeking inquiry into the allegations of corruption in the Micro Finance scheme under SNDP Yogam. VS appeared in person in the court at around 11:30 am and submitted the petition.
In the petition, VS alleged that SNDP yogam general secretary Vellapally Natesan committed a corruption of Rs 5015 core. For the loan taken from Backward Development Corporation at five percent interest, Vellapally took 18 percent interest from women among whom he distributed the amount. Moreover Vellapally took crores as loan from public sector institutions and cheated about two lakh women in the name of Micro Finance,” he said in the petition. He has asked for a detailed inquiry into the alleged cheating.
After filing the petition, VS told the media that a clear picture will emerge when the court verdict comes out. When asked about Vellapally’s Samatva Munnetta Yatra that would end tomorrow, Achuthanandan said, “let the yatra end or begin again.”
