THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There was a sea of humanity at Shankumugham on Saturday evening, braving rain, to witness SNDP Yogam General Secretary Vellapally Natesan announce the name of SNDP’s new party. Amidst the shouting of slogans, thunderous applauds and well-composed background music, Vellapally read out the name aloud several times – Bharat Dharma Jana Sena (BJDS). “The party symbol is folded hands in respect, which will be visible on the party flag. The flag’s colour is ‘kumkum’ red and white,” he declared.
Explaining the significance of the party symbol, the SNDP leader said the folded hands is a symbol of love and respect. “Samathva Munnetta yatra has never been against any party. What we exist is for equal dharma and justice for all. The adjustment rule between the Left and Right was what that had led SNDP to think on the lines of party formation,” he added.
