Humans Rights panel for reining in goons

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State Human rights Commission chairman Justice K B Koshy has asked the State police chief to study on effective steps to prevent goon attack in the State and submit a report on it.  

The report should be submitted on March18. A case in this regard will be considered on April 11 at 7 am during the sitting at Commission’s office

The case pertains to the gruesome murder of Shabeer in broad daylight on Sunday. The case was registered suo-motu based on media reports. The Commission observed that the incident had shaken the conscience of the mankind.

The Commission also took note of the attack on former diplomat and higher secondary education council vice-chairman T P Sreenivasan . Koshy remarked that “those who blame police for their inaction should not facilitate the release of the accused from the station or make statements that would demoralise the police”.
