Saritha can enter Cliff House kitchen, says VS

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Assembly Tuesday witnessed heated exchanges between the ruling Congress and opposition LDF following the controversial statement of opposition leader V S Achuthanandan. Opposition deputy leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan sought permission for the adjournment motion. The speaker using his privilege gave permission. Meantime, the ruling front came forward against speaker’s action permitting them to speak. The ruling front asked on what grounds permission was granted.

VS, who spoke after that harshly criticized the chief minister and called him a liar.  He said solar case accused Saritha S Nair had permission to enter Cliff House, the official residence of the chief minister.  She had also partaken in the prayer meet of the chief minister’s wife.

The assembly turned into a virtual battlefield following the statement of VS. However, VS said that it was not his statement but was in the evidence submitted before the solar commission by Saritha. The ruling front demanded the removal of his statement from the assembly proceedings. When the opposition came forward against it, the assembly witnessed noisy scenes and following that the speaker adjourned the assembly for the day.
