KOTTARAKKARA: In a shocking incident, a 24-year-old-youth died after he was fatally knocked down by a lorry while undergoing treatment for mental derangement. He was knocked down after he ran to the road during treatment. He has been identified as Ashwin Abraham (24), son of Dr Abraham Skaria and Dr Shirley Abraham. He died in front of the Kottarakkara taluk hospital at 7 am Monday morning.
Ashwin after undergoing treatment in a private hospital reached home last week. Ashwin, who lost his balance today was taken to Kottarakkara taluk hospital. The doctor of the psychiatry department here referred him to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital. He ran to the road while he was being taken to sedate. Though the employees in the hospital ran after him, a lorry proceeding to Kollam from Punalur knocked him down. Ashwin was a PG graduate.
