Misbehaving with compere: Case against ACP

KOCHI: Police have filed a case against ACP Vinayakumaran Nair for allegedly misbehaving with the compere at the Cocon International Cyber Security Conference organised by Kerala police. Kollam Anchalumoodu Police has filed the case on the basis of the girl’s complaint. He has been booked under charges of misbehaving with the girl.

Vinayakumar is the former ACP of Thiruvananthapuram Hi-tech cell. The action comes on the basis of departmental enquiry report submitted by Kollam Rural SP S Ajitha Begum before State Police Chief.

The case has been registered for non-bailable offence like talking to woman in sexual tone (IPC 354 A (1), stalking the victim with sexual intention  (IPC 354 D (2).

Though the girl had not made any written complaint, the police said her statements in front of woman rural SP would be considered as the evidence. Vinaykumar, who was transferred from Thiruvananthapuram high-tech cell following the incident, is now in Nandavanam Police camp.
