Medical admission uncertainty continues

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Uncertainty still continues in the admissions to self-financing medical colleges. The first phase of talks held between the government and the managements failed to find a solution. Talks will be held again later. The talks failed as the managements stuck to their stand of unified fees and the government firm in their 50% merit seats.

Meantime, the management representatives have clarified that they are willing to give 50% seats if the unified fee stand is approved.  The management association stated that they still have hope on talks with the government. Some suggestions are acceptable and some others impractical. Both should be ready for a compromise on it. The association has stated that if the government responds favorably then the management is ready for a compromise.
