THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Though the vigilance court had ordered a further probe against former minister K M Mani in the bar bribe case, the case will not be probed by R Sukesan. Instead of Sukesan, DYSP Najmal Hassan of the special investigating team will probe the case. Vigilance director DGP Jacob Thomas said the case has been handed over to another official as Sukesan was not keen in probing it. The probe in the case has not been completed and more scientific examinations are needed, he said.
The investigation of the case will go the right way. The vigilance’ task is to find the corrupt, said Jacob Thomas.
A further probe was ordered by the court on the plea of Sukesan that ADGP Shankar Reddy, the then vigilance director sabotaged the case. Sukesan had alleged that Reddy corrected the report stating that a charge sheet can be filed against Mani and also submitted a report stating that there is no evidence against Mani.
