Police to help shops, banks install security cameras

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: DGP Loknath Behera has instructed District police superintends to provide technical help to commercial-business centres, banks and cooperative institutions in installing security cameras. 

These cameras will be linked to police’ observation cameras in order to enhance the security and prevent crimes.  The police will help people find right places to fix CCTV cameras and ascertain the direction in which it should be placed.

The DGP said many establishments across the State have sought the police help to install cameras. “Steps should be taken to install as many cameras as possible. Merchants have installed cameras in prime spots with the help of the police. This camera has helped police solve many criminal cases. Based on requests, CI, SI will arrive at shops or institutions and render technical help,” he said.
