THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A discussion held in the presence of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Wednesday decided to recruit sufficient number of doctors in Manjery Medical College.
The government had asked for a year’s time to provide basic infrastructure for the college and it received a positive nod from the council in this regard. The college’s recognition was temporarily withdrawn as the government had failed to provide basic facilities to the college.
It has been decided in the meeting to recruit MD doctors in Manjeri under DHS as Assistant professors. A new building for General hospital will come up within 3 years. Admission will be opened to 517 Medical PG seats and 159 PG Diploma seats this year itself.
