Woman trafficking: Two arrested

ADOOR: Two members of a gang involved in sending women abroad with visiting visa in order to use them in flesh trade have been arrested.

Thiruvalla Kaviyoor Njalikandam Thazhathuppankara Muraleedharan Nair, 60,  and Paranthal Plavidappadi Pulluparambil Puthenveettil Joly Stanley, 45, are the persons arrested.

The arrest took place after a woman from Adoor, who had been subjected to cruel sexual harassment in Kuwait, filed a police complaint.

According to police Muraleedharan Nair was a main agent of Navaz from Ernakulam, who had been running a foreign recruitment agency abroad. Marriage broker Jolly Stanely was the first person to trap the woman.

The woman was sent in visiting visa to Kuwait on October 8, 2013, after she was offered a housemaid’s job there. Later an Arabi came to her help and arranged for her return to India.
