KOCHI: Kavitha Pillai, accused in the medical seat fraud case, asked a ransom of Rs 2 lakhs for acquitting the persons accused in the ganja case. The amount was to pay the police officers as bribe for not charging more offences against the youth.
The investigating team found that there were two more persons to help Kavitha in this case. It was also noticed that she has some close connections with officials of some police stations in the city.
It was alleged that Kavitha Pillai acted as a mediator for the release of some accused in a ganja seizure case. Kavitha has to appear in three stations once in a week as per bail conditions in the medical seat fraud case. The secret investigating team found that she kept a close relation with some officers.
