Holiday for Pongala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: On account of Attukal Pongala festival, the government has declared holiday for all government offices and educational institutions in the Thiruvananthapuram district on March 5. Wednesday (March 4) afternoon will also be a holiday in City areas.

Public Administration Secretary K R Jyothilal informed that holiday was declared for Wednesday afternoon, taking into consideration the heavy festival rush on the eve of Pongala day. He added that the temporary camp of the police would also have to be accommodated in schools on the day.
