KOCHI: The Kerala High Court directed the Kottayam Vigilance Court to conduct a probe against Finance Minister K M Mani on the plea filed alleging corruption in providing illegal tax benefits to two firms.
A single bench led by Justice C T Ravi Kumar passed the order cancelling Kottayam Vigilance Court’s order against the probe. The plea was filed by Kerala Congress nationalist chairman advocate Noble Mathew.
The petitioner has alleged that Mani provided illegal tax benefits to poultry trading companies causing huge loss to the public exchequer. The vigilance court in Kottayam dismissed the petition citing lack of jurisdiction. However the high court directed the vigilance to probe the case.
