THRISSUR: Nisham, the accused in the Chandrabose murder case, has been shifted to the special cell in the jail where hard-core terrorists were housed before. The decision to shift Nisham to the highly protected cell was taken after it was alleged that the jail officials were on a race to provide facilities to Nisham, according to his whims.
Nisham was given the new cell on Sunday. Jail officials do not have an easy access to this cell. There are also restrictions for the officials to open the cell and meet him. Moreover, there are chances for Nisham to be get attacked by other jail inmates. All these factors were considered before shifting Nisham to the new cell.
The decision was taken by top jail officials as they came to know that some jail officials were trying to help him.
Meanwhile, it is known that the police will hand over to collector on Monday the report with recommendation to invoke KAAPA against Nisham. If the collector accepts the report, Nisham will be shifted to Kannur Central jail. All KAAPA accused of the northern states have been lodged in the jail. But here also Nisham is likely to be treated with favour as the jail is notorious for political favouritism.
