KOLLAM: The investigation taken up by the Crime Branch to trace the source of solar scam accused Saritha S Nair’s sleazy videos that went viral via WhatsApp seems to have met a dead end.
The truth is that apart from registering the case, the Crime branch has not been able to make any headway in the case.
Only after finding out the source of the video, it can be confirmed whether it is the video of Saritha or not. State police’ handicap in the ready availability of modern technology to aid the investigation is said to have been retarding the progress of the probe.
DySP Sanal Kumar of Thiruvalla branch office is heading the probe. The video scandal broke out in October last year as MMS and it became viral after it was shared through WhatsApp.
The investigation team has sought the help of Google and Cyber Cell in finding out the source. The details of those who had shared the video using their mobile phones were also secured.
Saritha had blamed a top police officer for the video scandal. She had filed a case in Pathanamthitta court, seeking an inquiry into the video scam. The case registered by Pathanamthitta police was later handed over to the Crime branch.
To speed up the case the team will soon record Sarith’s statement, which will decide the next course of the case.
