MALAPPURAM: P V Abdul Wahab has been chosen as the Rajya Sabha candidate of the Muslim League. His name was announced by party state chief Panakkad Hyderali Shihab Thangal Saturday morning. Wahab was a member of the Rajya Sabha from 2004 to 2010. He was the chosen as the candidate after pushing behind League general secretary K P A Majeed.
Minister P K Kunhalikutty said the decision was taken after normal procedures. The names of many were heard earlier. The final decision is to field Wahab as the final candidate. There is no dispute in the party in connection with the candidature. All should abide the decision of Panakkad Thangal, Majeed told reporters.
I will move forward after correcting my mistakes and being a rich person is not a crime, said Wahab. I reached this position from the bottom level. The Rajya Sabha seat obtained now is a recognition for working honestly for the party. The mistakes pointed out is seen positively, he said.
