Gas cylinder strike called off

KOCHI: The strike that was being held by Kochi BPCL truck drivers has been withdrawn. The strike was called off on Monday night on the basis of talks held in the presence of Assistant Labour Commissioner. The meeting was attended by BPCL workers’ representatives and truck owners.

The strikers’ demand was to appoint a cleaner in each truck that transported LPG cylinders. In the discussion, it was decided to appoint a cleaner in each truck, before April 23. The strike had been going on for the past few days and the supply was hit in many parts of the State.
