Friday, July 8, 2011: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy was readmitted to hospital with a chest infection on Friday after going to the assembly for a short while to hear his government’s first budget. Chandy had been taken to the Medical College Hospital on Thursday night after developing a chest infection, but on Friday asked permission from doctors to go to the assembly.
‘He came to the assembly and at 9.30 am, but the doctors wanted him back in hospital because he is yet to recover fully,’ said a top source close to him. Chandy’s official programmes for three days have been cancelled.
