Parvoor Sex Scandal Case: Identification parade to be held on Friday

Wednesday, July 06, 2011: An Identification parade of accused will be held in sensational Paravur sex scandal case in which a minor girl from North Paravur was sexually exploited by many, including her father, by promising roles in films. The identification parade will be held on Friday in the presence of Perumbavur judicial magistrate.
The police have traced out several phone numbers of persons from the victim’s personal diary, who are suspected to be involved in the case.
Meanwhile as many as 53 people have been arrested so far in connection with Paravur sex scandal case. The Crime Branch had on Sunday arrested three more people in connection with the case. The arrested have been identified as vehicle inspector PR Manu, Laiju and Renny.
The sexual abuse of the 14-year-old girl came to light three months ago after her mother lodged a complaint before the police submitting that her husband had forcibly taken the daughter to prostitution. Based on the submissions made by the girl and the mother, the police registered a case and launched a probe.
Though the police were able to arrest a few persons, including the girl’s father and mother in connection with the case, the government handed over the investigation to Crime Branch after there were allegations that the police were trying to help a few high-profile persons belonging to film industry.
