PC George lashes out at Thachankary

Saturday, July 09, 2011: Kerala Congress leader and Chief whip, PC George today opined that the government will remain firm on its stern stand against Tomin J Thachankary even though the government had decided to reinstate him in service.
Speaking to the reporters at a press meet held here on Saturday, George added that the government had decided to reinstate Thachankary since his suspension term had expired and the NIA had given a clean chit to him.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had informed that Thachankary will be reinstated soon after the expiry of his suspension term on July 10.
Thachankary was placed under suspension for violating service rules by going abroad without consent from the previous government. Thachankary ran into trouble after the Indian Ambassador in Qatar complained of the foreign trip made by him.
The Ambassador gave a formal complaint to the union Home ministry accusing Thachankary of having talks with terror groups while staying in Qatar.
