Power crisis may force load- shedding in Kerala

Wednesday, July 06, 2011: A fly ash disposal issue at NTPC’s Talcher thermal plant may require Kerala, which depends on it for meeting the state’s growing energy requirements – to enforce load-shedding.
Kerala gets 440 MW electricity from the plant.
The thermal power major has already shut down two units at Talcher stage-II, following a closure notice from the Orissa State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB) on June 28.
