Reshuffle in police dept: Cong downplays allegations

Sunday, July 24, 2011: The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, Ramesh Chennithala today ruled out the allegations leveled by the Opposition that the Congress party had interfered in the major reshuffling in the state police department.
Speaking to the reporters here on Sunday, Chennithala added that the allegation raised by the opposition was highly unfortunate. The state government had issued a directive by transferring 130 Dy SPs and several other police officials.

While responding to a question on finance appropriation bill, KPCC chief opined that the opposition was insulting the legislature by raising unnecessary allegations.
The opposition had alleged that the finance bill was passed in the House without a majority and one of the ruling party members had cast his vote twice.
