ALAPPUZHA: There is a bid to commercialize Sree Narayana Guru, said opposition leader V S Achuthanandan. Some politicians and those leading some caste based organizations are behind it, he said. VS made the criticism without naming SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan while inaugurating the 161st Sree Narayana Guru Jayanthi celebrations in the district.
There is an attempt to change Sree Narayana Guru as the guru of Ezhavas. Some political leaders and those leading caste based organizations are trying to create a rift amongst the people and suck their blood. Some among them are misusing the name of Guru. The attempt to make Guru as the private property of Ezhavas should be seen seriously. A joint strike should be staged against it, he said.
