PSC will collect verification fee from candidates whose appointments are confirmed

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Public Service Commission, which is facing financial crunch,  has decided to levy verification fee on candidates whose appointment has been confirmed. The PSC meeting held today decided to charge Rs 1000 as verification fee from candidates whose appointment has been confirmed.

The PSC has also instructed the Examination Controller to submit special report on controlling the expenditure for conducting examinations as it is a “costly affair”.

Making recruitments to opted posts will also be temporarily stopped. A huge amount is incurred by the PSC when it conducts examinations before vacancies are reported. This is the reason why recruitments to posts based on choices have been frozen.
The number of candidates in a class will be increased to 30. At present 20 students are allowed in  a class. The PSC has decided to discard old vehicles in order to curb the expense due to them.

The meeting also has decided to demand for withdrawing the fee charged on grounds used to conduct physical test for various posts.
