Drug abuse rises after closure of bars, says Antony

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There has been an increase in drug consumption in the state after the closure of bars, said senior congress leader A K Antony. The consumption of ganja and drugs are increasing. In the present situation, children are addicted to drugs. The stuff is available in schools also.

Inaugurating the birth anniversary celebrations of Jawaharlal Nehru organised by KPSTU, he said the standard of studies is seen declining in the state. The state is behind in the quality of schools. Teachers and the government should jointly take steps to raise the standard of studies, he said. Ensure social and communal amity in all levels, he said.
