THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government is trying to take over the administration of local self-governing bodies by subverting polls, alleged CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. A move is on to hand over the administration to officials, Kodiyeri said at the press meet.
The high court partially cancelling the bifurcation of panchayats executed by the government is a proof of illegal bifurcation. If polls are sabotaged, the Left will launch strong agitations, he said. The election commission has directed to conduct the polls as per old bifurcation.
