THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Food minister Anoop Jacob has said that in the next Assembly session, bill to regulate food prices in hotels will be introduced.
There will be no compromise in that. The next Assembly session will happen in December. Going by the minister’s words, the law to rein in uncontrollable prices of hotel food will come into effect soon.
The minister in an exclusive chat with Kerala Kaumudi said that cabinet will meet before the Assembly session and give approval to the bill
The introduction of the bill is a long-awaited thing and for the past four years, people have been expecting it. The high court had also observed that the government should make law to regulate the uncontrollable pirces of hotel foods. There have also been attempt to trap it in red-tapes. Many with ulterior motives thought that the bill will not see the light. However the minister’s revelation came when Kerala Kaumudi prodded the minister.
