SFI march turns violent in capital city

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A march staged by the SFI turned violent in the capital city. The march was staged by the SFI for sabotaging spot admission of government colleges. The activists who entered the secretariat were arrested and removed from the site.

The march which started at 11.30 am was stopped by the police with barricades near the secretariat. The police used water cannons and tear gas when they tried to topple the barricades.

The clash turned violent when the police tried to prevent the students from entering the secretariat. The situation was later calmed with the intervention of V Sivankutty MLA. Three injured activists have been admitted in the hospital.
