KOZHIKODE: Minister M K Muneer , who is in charge of Panchayat affairs, has said that the government will think about further action, after coming to know about the court’s response on the government’s appeal regarding local body election. “The government will explore other options, if the court verdict turns unfavourable to it. We can’t give a clear response unless the verdict is out,” he said.
“I don’t think there is a need for a detailed trial on this issue. The division bench will be examining the Single bench order. Earlier governments have also done ward bifurcation according to their wishes. The government and the election commission are against delaying the election,” Muneer added.
